Heart of a Hero
You have the Heart of a Hero!
Meet Caleb and learn how your support has helped lift the burden his mom Charlotte has felt through his nearly four year treatment.
On January 23, 2010 I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy and named him Caleb. When he was four hours old I was told he had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Chemotherapy began almost immediately. My Caleb is now a few months from being four years old and he has been diagnosed with ALL twice. He has endured numerous rounds of chemo, several surgeries, two stem cell transplants, a tracheostomy tube and been placed on a ventilator three times. What Caleb has needed most throughout this journey is his mother at his side which has made working difficult.
Thanks to generous donations from Heroes for Children, my family has had some relief during our darkest hours. Heroes also host social events for families like ours and we participate when we can because it allows our family a moment to relax and enjoy each other carefree.
We love Heroes for Children and are grateful for everything they do to help lift the burden from families and children enduring cancer. Caleb has continued to fight and still deals with the side effects from treatment but not long ago was declared in remission! Thank you to the donors that give to Heroes for Children, your support means so much to families in need.
